Running a successful family owned company was a real accomplishment for Mike Lyons and his brother Kevin and the thought of having to close the doors was heartbreaking. On a whim, they met with BB.
Jim Lyons, Kevin’s son and Creative Packaging says, “I’ve never met a CEO of a company more friendly than Barry Brauch, he listened to everything we were saying. He came out, met with us and took the time to understand our business. Barry’s passion for business owners and his ability to see our growth potential was energizing. Before they knew it, American Founders Bank had stepped in with the help of the SBA.” The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created in 1953 as an independent agency of the federal government to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. We recognize that small business is critical to our economic recovery and strength, to building America’s future, and to helping the United States compete in today’s global marketplace.
SBA has grown significantly in terms of total assistance provided and, its array of programs have been tailored to encourage small enterprises in all areas. SBA’s programs now include financial and federal contract procurement assistance, management assistance, and specialized outreach to women, minorities and armed forces veterans. SBA also provides loans to victims of natural disasters and specialized advice and assistance in international trade.
As the AFB banker says, With AFB and SBA, we helped Creative Packaging grow bigger, better and faster.
